The Porto Alegre Joaquim Felizardo Museum, created in 1979, has the mission of promoting the interaction of society with the city's cultural heritage, with an emphasis on its history and memory, through the preservation, research and communication of cultural assets under its care. Solar Lopo Gonçalves, built in a Luso-Brazilian style, was inhabited by different residents and started to host the Museum in 1982.
