Mãe de Deus Sanctuary
The Nossa Senhora Mãe de Deus Sanctuary was completed in June 2000. It has 700 m² of built area on a 7-hectare plot, on the tops of Morro do Santuário. Nossa Senhora Mãe de Deus has been the patron saint of Porto Alegre and the Archdiocese since January 18, 1773, and the building became the city's architectural heritage in 2014. The specific message of this sanctuary is to exalt and glorify the greatest of all titles and graces of the Virgin Mary and the foundation of her greatness, which is to be the Mother of God.
